"Sequester" is a Van de Statd designed "Seacracker 33" built by Tyler Boat Company in 1977
I bought her in 2019 and have made significant refurbishments over the last 2 years. Now I have the opportunity to go for a
slightly bigger boat and is my sole reason for sale.
First up in 2019 were a brand new mainsail and 140% overlap furling headsail. Tailor made they are computer designed and laser cut by Sanders Sails of Lymington. New canvas mainsail cover (2019). She also benefits from a cruising chute complete with snuffer for ease of handling. She sails beautifully, and out performs many modern cruisers of similar size. With a deep V hull she sails really well to windward, including into a sea with minimal slamming. To windward in calm water she can achieve 6.3 knots, and off the wind 7.5 sometimes 8 knots
Next she has was re-engined in 2019 with a complete new propulsion installation, everything (except the fuel tank) has been renewed. The original 10hp single cylinder Sabb has been replaced with a BETA 16. So engine, gearbox, couplings, shaft, stern fittings, electrics, instrumentation, Morse controls, exhaust system, cooling system, and fuel system were all renewed under the professional supervision of Owen Haisell Services Ltd. I also treated the boat to a Darglow 3 bladed FeatherStream propeller. Max speed under engine is circa 6.8 knots however I usually cruise at about 5.5knots when she consumes approximately 1.3 litres per hour.
Standing Rigging was renewed 2014, running rigging is in good condition with main halyard, jib sheets, and reefing lines renewed in 2019.
Down below she is of conventional layout with good size V berth forwards, there is an infill if required. Next is a Jabsco loo (2016) to port, sink with pressurised cold water. Locker to stb. Main saloon berth to port and stb. Folding table. Galley to port has a new (2020) Neptune 4500 gas two burner hob and grill. Sink with pressurised cold water. To starboard is the chart table with Navman 5500i colour chart plotter and backup Garmin 12 GPS. Navico RT 6500S VHF radio. The accommodation deck head lining was professionally relined in 2015. Windows renewed with Kitemarked glass, and stainless bezels.
In the cockpit are mounted separate Stowe: Wind, Depth, and Log. Also in the cockpit Autohelm 2000.
Cockpit locker to port for stowage. Stowage aft of the cockpit in the stern locker. Gas cylinder which drains overboard.
On deck fwd is a "Fortress FX16" anchor and 50 meters of chain. Works really well. A spare 35lbs CQR is stowed in the stern locker. 20 meters spare chain and 30meter anchor warp stowed under the saloon bunks.
2020 a brand new 4 man valise life raft, in date, is available if required. Along with 4 inflatable lifejackets if required, Boathook, fenders, mooring warps, Avon Redstart dinghy, oars, outboard bracket. Portable picnic table for the cockpit. Canvas cockpit sun shade tent.
After being professionally polished and antifouled by Cooke Maritime the boat was relaunched 9th March this year and is now afloat and in full commission on the Beaulieu river.
Last full survey (and valuation) was carried out on the 11th February 2021 for insurance purpose (This is available for inspection). Please feel free to contact me if you would like to see the survey or for more information.

Fore cabin: Has the classic twin V berth arrangement. Both Port and Stb berths are of full size and you do not necessarily need the centre "Infill" to feel secure. However by using the "Infill" you have a nice double bed.
Sea toilet to port. It's basic but does the job well. The toilet compartment can be completely isolated from both the bow cabin and main saloon by two sets of Bifold doors (fwd and aft) The hand basin slides out for use. Supplied with pressurised cold water.
Main cabin has two full size bunks (Port and Starboard) with lovely classic folding table. With obligatory storage compartment in the middle.
Galley to port with new two burner hob and grill. Pot storage. (No fridge) but I use a plug in 12 volt cool box which works really well.
Chat table to stb. Stowage for bits under the chartable.
5th Full size berth to stb which extends down under the cokpit.
Made of GRP the Seacracker 33 was also marketed as a Tuffglass 33,
The hull is of sturdy GRP and is in excellent condition, she was stripped back and fully epoxied in 2015.
With her keel configuration being slightly longer than a true fin yacht she reduces her draft to 1.4m whilst still retaining an excellent grip on the water. The fin is scooped out at the aft end to reduce wetted surface area in comparison to a long keeled boat. She has a skeg hung rudder. The bronze bush was renewed in 2015
I have an extensive inventory list as a Word document. Just email me if you would like a copy.
But basically the boat is ready to walk on board and go sailing.
Navman and GPS: This is yesterdays technology. They are both hard wired and work absolutely fine. I personally use "Navionics" on my Samsung Tablet, which also fits perfectly on the chartable or can be moved to the cockpit or hatch top.

Mainsail: New 2019 see description in intro
Genoa: New 2019 see description in intro.
I had Sanders make Sequester a new set of high quality cruising sails mid 2019. They are lovely. They set really well. The 140% overlap genoa has "Luff padding" sewn in which assist to keep the shape of the sail when reefing the headsail.
My opinion is the boat is well canvassed, and sails well in light airs. She sails even better in stronger breezes and excels with one or two reefs in.
New 2020 4 man life raft is available if required .
4 new 2020 inflatable lifejackets are available if required.
Two horseshoe life rings fit in brackets on the pulpit. Stencilled with "Sequester"
