The Maestro 35 is a fast and seaworthy cruising yacht from a quality Finnish builder. She has been extensively cruised around the west coasts of the UK and Ireland in the 12 years of her present ownership, from a base in the Isles of Scilly. Maestro Yachts are built on the island of Oja on the Baltic coast of Finland which is a renowned area for the construction of quality yachts with Baltic Yachts and Nautor Swan also based there. The Oyster Lightwave 395 is a fast racer-cruiser, this example being No 19 of 31 built, and having been in the same ownership since 2006. Early in his ownership the present owner raced her, often in shorthanded races, but for some years now has mostly used her as a fast cruiser. The hull was epoxied in 2021, and the engine was replaced with a Yanmar 3YM30AE in 2015. This Westerly 33 is a much-travelled example of these solid, powerful cruising yachts. The Southerly 100 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. Built in 1982-84 and launched in 1985, this Tradewind 35 is a moderately heavy displacement long-keeled yacht. This example has a Hydrovane self-steering gear and wind generator on the stern, and excellent sails. She was coppercoated in early 2021.
