At 40' Overall length - including extended bowsprit "Rainbow" is always a head-turner; This eye catching Ketch (often mistaken for being wood and much older than she is) "Rainbow" has been easily sailed by a couple for the last ten years enjoying the South coast UK and all it has to offer.
Her heavy weight means she sits comfortably at anchor and we have ridden out 40+ knot winds at anchor, with confidence as we watched others being thrown around like a rag doll in a washing machine. Her sail plan means there's always an easily managed gear for all conditions keeping her docile mannerisms as reasurrance when conditions are otherwise and when conditions are right - single handing with 5 sails up, becomes a force multiplier!
In wetter conditions in port an all over clear cockpit cover keeps the light and ventilation coming in but the rain out.
In previous ownership - Rainbow has committed more daring raids, and crossed the atlantic spending several years at English harbour in the Carribean and participating in several Antigua classic yacht regattas (with the timeless photos as souvenirs) until returning to the UK and undergoing a complete refit under current ownership.
It is with mixed emotions we have decided to put her on the market today; following family changes we have decided to move back to the racing circuit.
